On December 23, the Committee decided to recommend that the Ukrainian Parliament adopt as a basis the draft law No. 3475 "On amendments to some Laws of Ukraine" (as to protection of independence of mass media organizations and improvement of protection of right to honor, dignity and business reputation).
The draft law offers to expand the special period of limitations of one year for all requirements touching the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation in view of dissemination of unfair information about a person. Specific amendments are aimed at elimination of legislative gaps as to the exercise of the right to response or refutation of unfair information.
The draft law enshrinement introduction of progressive scale of accrual of a court fee in cases upon protection of honor and dignity of an individual, business reputation of individual or legal entity.
