As was noted during the discussion, the purpose of the draft law (No.2232a) is the legal definition of a concept of rural ‘green’ tourism, and thereby clear separation of business and non-business activity in the field of tourism, carried out in rural areas, as well as provision of state support to this form of activity of rural residents through organizing for them professional training and retraining of members of private farms in the field of rural ‘green’ tourism.

The draft law proposes to amend the Law of Ukraine "On Private Farm," by supplementing Section 1 of Article 7 by Sub-Item 16 as follows: "to voluntary provide fee-based or free services in the field of rural ‘green’ tourism, namely accommodation services for no more than 10 beds, meals, and organization of leisure activities and events connected with the use of property of the private farm, local practice and traditions of hospitality."

The Committee notes that when preparing the draft law for the second reading they should refine the definition of the "rural green tourism" concept and to examine possible amendments to the Classification of professions, by defining the relevant professions with specialization in the field of rural tourism.
