The ceremony of awarding the winners of the final of the II All-Ukrainian Tournament of Young Financial Literacy Experts took place at the University of Banking on December 8.
The Committee Chairperson stressed that the Tournament is aimed at discovering of gifted and talented students in the framework of the research and experimental work concerning implementation of the course "Financial Literacy" and engaging of researchers, students and postgraduates to work with upper-form students. "An important task of the Tournament is to develop in pupils of practical skills and competences of use of financial services in order to improve their own financial well-being that is to provide education for living. So, exactly this project is a model of education for living," Lilia Hrynevych said in her speech. According to her words, the competence "financial literacy" is one of European competences. Every young person needs this knowledge as it helps people in their everyday private, public life and at work.
The Tournament of Young Financial Literacy Experts of the nationwide level was held in Ukraine for the second time. Combined teams of students from 10 classes participated in it (one team from the region, which is a participant of the research and experimental work on implementation of the course "Financial Literacy"). One team consists of three to five people. Students of higher educational institutions with I and II levels of accreditation are allowed to participate in the Tournament.
The team of competent jury was represented by 14 members, namely the best specialists, teachers of higher educational institutions of Ukraine, and famous teachers. The Tournament was organized and held with the support of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Deposit Guarantee Fund, Oschadbank, and the University of Banking. The Institute for Upgrading the Content of Education under of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine provided organizational support.
