The
Verkhovna Rada has amended the Law "On the Committees of the Verkhovna
Rada of Ukraine" as follows:
1. Section 1 of Article 9 has been worded as follows:
"1. The Committees inform the public about their activity, including
through making public the working plan, schedule of Committee meetings, acts
approved by the Committees, minutes and transcripts of Committee meetings and
hearings in the Committees.
Meetings
and other events of the Committees open to the public may be attended by
journalists, employees of media organizations and representatives of NGOs.
Journalists, employees of media organizations accredited to the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine need not additional accreditation to attend Committee
meetings."
2. Section 2 of Article 44 has been worded as follows:
"2. Holding of Committee meetings is open to the public, except in cases when a Committee decides to hold a closed meeting. At open Committee meetings, persons present at the meetings have the right to make audio-recording, film, photo and video shooting, radio and TV broadcast of the meeting, online broadcast on the Internet and / or other data networks in a manner not obstructing the meeting.
Persons
present at the meetings inform the person chairing the meeting before its
start, of their intention to make audio-recording, film, photo and video
shooting, radio and TV broadcast of the meeting, online broadcast on the
Internet and / or other data networks, and the chair announces this prior to
consideration of items on the meeting agenda.
If the persons present at the meeting violate the order of its holding or
obstruct holding the Committee meeting, such persons may be expelled from the
premises where the meeting is held by a decision of the Committee.
