In particular, on December 2, 2015 there was a conference concerning the ways of making public information on the state of radioactive contamination of territories.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the National Commission for Radiation Protection of the Population of Ukraine Vadym Bahay and Director of the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Agricultural Radiology Valerii Kashparov.

At the conference they discussed the need to streamline and publish in a reader-friendly form documents on nationwide dosimetry certification of inhabited settlements, which had been contaminated with radiation. The corresponding research was made in 2011-2012 in accordance with the Presidential Decree No. 937 "On measures connected with the 25th anniversary of the Chornobyl Catastrophe" dated October 11, 2010, which ended in preparation by the expert group of the National Commission for Radiation Protection of the Population of Ukraine on the basis of normative and methodological documents in effect, of multivolume expert opinions on the radiological situation of inhabitant settlements in a number of regions of the country.

Mykola Tomenko offered to prepare and publish an adapted simplified version of documents on certification of territories, classified as areas of radioactive contamination (in terms of regions and districts), which will be of use to the public, central bodies of executive power and local self-government as a major source of information on the issues connected with the grounds for residence, resettlement, permit system, business activity, and granting of privileges.

On December 3, 2015 Tomenko had a conference on implementation of the environmental policy of Ukraine in the sphere of use, protection and recovery of aquatic living resources, their reproduction, environmentally and economically sustainable use.

The conference was attended by the Chairperson of the State Agency of Fisheries Yarema Kovaliv, and Deputy Chairperson of the Agency Andrii Kravchenko.

The conference participants noted that the situation with the protection of aquatic living resources, and the system of fisheries, in particular with fishing and illegal production, has acquired menacing proportions and demands urgent response.

Control over the fish industry is inefficient, in particular in connection with imposition of a moratorium on carrying out inspections (carrying out state supervision (control)) among other things.

Inadequate against the caused damage is responsibility for violation of regulations on fishing and carrying out of works on the lands of water resources, which leads to barbaric catch of fish resources and destroys areas of their natural reproduction.

M.Tomenko said that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is considering the draft law of Ukraine on imposition of a ban (moratorium) on industrial catch of aquatic living resources in some water reservoirs of Ukraine (registration No. 2454a).

Representatives of the State Agency of Fisheries offered ways of settling these issues, in particular through the imposition of temporary ban (moratorium) on the industrial catch of aquatic biological resources in some water reservoirs of Ukraine with a limited tenure and also through strengthening of responsibility for violation of the legislation in this sphere.

The meeting participants came to an agreement concerning the preparation of a coordinated draft law on the imposition of a ban (moratorium) on industrial catch of aquatic living resources in some water reservoirs of Ukraine.
