At a meeting on November 25 it was noted that the village of Bykhaltsokhivka forms part of Malyi Lystven village council and is located 14 km from the district center, urban-type village of Ripky. 63 people live in the village. Renaming of the village of Bykhaltsokhivka was initiated by its residents over the fact that the name of Bykholtsokhivka was used when making official documents for the residents of this locality (birth certificates, passports of citizens of Ukraine, technical passports for buildings, state acts for land, etc.). Due to this situation, the residents of this settlement were deprived of the possibility to draw up civil contracts, as the name of the populated locality mentioned in the documents does not correspond to the official list of administrative units of the Chernihiv region.
Subcommittee Chairperson M.Fedoruk informed the present that according to information of the Malyi Lystven village council the name of the village was formed by merging the names of two villages - Bukhovtsi and Olkhivka (in Russian Bukhovtsy (Буховцы) and Olkhovka (Ольховка) according to Schubert map of 1820), Bukhovtsy and Olkhovtsy (map of 1851), Bukhovtsy and Olkhovka (Strelbitskiy map of 1911), in Polish Buchowce and Olchowka (polish map of late XIX century)).
Following the discussion, the Committee members took into account that the issue of renaming the village of Bykhaltsokhivka was supported by the local community at the general meeting of citizens, coordinated in compliance with the legislation, examined and approved by Malyi Lystven village, Ripky district, and Chernihiv regional councils. It was decided to support the application of the Chernihiv Regional Council for remaining the village of Bykhaltsokhivka, Malyi Lystven village council, Ripky district of Chernihiv region into the village of Bykholtsokhivka, and to order the People's Deputies of Ukraine - members of the Committee to elaborate and submit to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the draft resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On renaming the village Bykhaltsokhivka, Malyi Lystven village council, Ripky district of Chernihiv Region," which will be recommended to the Parliament for adoption as a basis and as a whole.
