The issues of organization and provision of necessary medical aid to internally displaced persons and their provision with medicinal products during the year 2015, as well as measures taken by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for improvement of the said issues in the next year were considered with participation of V.V. Shafranskyi, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine, engaged in issues of medical provision of Counter-Terrorism Operation and internally displaced persons, O.P. Lishyk, deputy head of Luhansk Military-Civil Administration, S.F. Terioshyn, deputy mayor of the town of Severodonetsk, and representatives of public organizations.
Besides, People’s Deputies of Ukraine, members of the Committee, jointly with administration of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and representatives of international organizations (UNDP, UNICEF and Crown Agents) discussed the issue of organization of state purchases to be performed by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding Assurance of Timely Access of Patients to the Necessary Medicinal Products and Medical Devices by the Way of State Purchases Involving Specialized Organizations Performing the Purchases”, pricing policy of these international organizations, and terms of the nearest deliveries of vital medicinal products and vaccines purchased by them to Ukrainian population.
Besides, I.B. Perehinets, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine, informed the Committee on the course of the anti-polio vaccination campaign in Ukraine, in particular, on the plan of measures for additional population immunization against poliomyelitis approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for the year 2015; in accordance with WHO recommendations, this immunization will include three rounds: two rounds involving children aged 2 months to 6 years old (5 years, 11 months, 29 days); and the third expanded round involving children below 10 years old (9 years,11 months, 29 days). Duration of the first round of oral polio vaccine (OPV) vaccination is 3 weeks, and duration of the following vaccination rounds (the second and the third) is 2 weeks. The interval between OPV vaccination rounds is one month (30 days).
According to the information by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the most active vaccination of children is carried out in Kirovohrad, Mykolayiv, Chernihiv, and Zhytomyr regions. Immunization process is slow in Donetsk, Lviv, and Zakarpattia regions and Kyiv.
