The topic of the event was "Economy of Ukraine. Path from collapse to prosperity."

In the frames of the conference, the Chairperson of the Committee informed about new industrial policy as a basis of innovations.

Noting the major task of the economic reforms in Ukraine, Halasiuk pointed to the fact that the evolutionary path of the reforms is unacceptable for our country.

"To achieve economic success Ukraine needs radical reforms: full institutional reload, liberalization of the tax system and creation of powerful stimuli for the revival of own production sector," the parliamentarian said.

He added: "We have to turn our economy from a raw material, monopoly and oligarchic way of being, into a high-technology, competitive and socially-oriented one."

The Chairperson of the Committee explained: if we grow 4% each year, we will reach such countries as Turkey, Romania, Belarus, Croatia only in 20-25 years, and that would be the case only if the those idle their development. "Thus, we have to hold simultaneous reindustrialization and develop the knowledge-intensive production sector," the people's deputy said.

"Total capitalization of the country will take place only when economic development is guaranteed," Halasiuk assured.
