The draft law aims to meet a requirement, declared by the International Agreement signed on June 6, 2015, to implement the Project for modernization of the Bortnychi aeration station — tax exemption of import/re-export of commodities or services provided at the expense of a loan of the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The draft law envisions supplementing Item 4, Chapter XXI of the Customs Code of Ukraine with a provision as to temporary termination of import duty levying on commodities delivered to Ukraine in the frames of the implementation of the said Project.

At that it is mentioned that such import duty exemption will be valid only if the commodities are imported to Ukraine by a Japanese subject of the Project, under the list and in volumes agreed by Ukraine and the Agency.

The draft law also envisions supplementing Item 4 of Chapter XXI with Item 42. Pursuant to the Item, during the period of the Project implementation (temporarily), commodities, vehicles or other proprietary rights of the Japanese side imported for the implementation of the Project may also be exempted from import duties and taxes.

Respective draft law was registered under No. 2392а.
