At the meeting of the Committee on October 7, its Chairperson Liliya Hrynevych noted that the draft law No. 2244a is mainly aimed at the "integration of the Ukrainian science with the European scientific space, to meet its requirements and demands."

"It is important to take in account the principles of fair competition and budget transparency, academic mobility of researchers, as well as to create conditions to exchange scientific information and adjust partner relations in the field of scientific researches and development of technologies," the Committee chairperson said.

In her words, the governmental draft law is the most well-weighed basis for further work over the law.

She also pointed to a number of problems and important aspects the members of the Ukrainian Government would have to work on to improve the document. She mentioned the need to expand rights of scientific institutions, improve social status of scientists, and attract young scientists to the formation of scientific policy.
