Serhii Alekseev said that such a visit is illegal from the standpoint of the international law and is unacceptable for Ukraine. He initiated a number of measures that could assure the deputies of the Movimento 5 Stelle faction at the Parliament of the Italian Republic to revise their plans to visit Crimea.

He also said that the deputy group for interparliamentary relations with the Italian Republic has long actively worked on the adjustment and development of relations between Ukraine and Italy.

According to him, an important task of that work was to prevent the visit announced by the group of Italian parliamentarians to Russia-annexed Crimea.

Alekseev noted that his group's members have several times conducted meetings with Italian parliamentarians in order to ensure objective informing Italian politicians about real situation in Ukraine and creation of conditions for further fruitful cooperation.

According to the co-chairperson of the deputy group, this week, the founder of the Movimento 5 Stelle party, Beppe Grillo, and 91 faction parliamentarians received leaflets calling to hear Ukraine's position as to illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula. Besides, the Italian deputies were invited to visit Kyiv instead of Crimea.
