Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration, Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs discuss number of important European integration issues

On September 2, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration and the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs held their joint meeting with the participation of Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin. Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine for European integration Olena Zerkal, Deputy Justice Ministers Petukhov and Yanchuk, Deputy Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers/Director of Governmental European Integration Office Hnydiuk and others.

At the meeting, the members of the Committees discussed a number of important issues in the context of the European integration of Ukraine, in particular: the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine on the one hand and the European Union, European Atomic Energy Community and their member countries on the other hand; the status of the implementation of the Agreement; the status of the implementation of the second phase of the Action Plan for the liberalization of the visa regime by the EU for Ukraine; as well as the energy security in relations between Ukraine and the EU.

At the end of the meeting, its participants decided to address the Government to raise the financing of the central secretariat of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine and diplomatic representation offices of Ukraine in order to provide appropriate conditions to organize their effective work.
