Head of Verkhovna Rada Committee for Science and Education Liliya Hrynevych takes part in roundtable entitled "Speak Global – Go Global: English in secondary education system"

Graduates of Ukrainian schools have to speak at least one of the European languages at the level of an independent user.

This was said by Liliya Hrynevych at the roundtable entitled "Speak Global – Go Global: English in secondary education system" which took place on June 9 and was initiated by the National Reforms Council.

According to the Head of the Committee, it is necessary to introduce changes to education plan in secondary schools giving more time to English studies; to raise the number of modern English school books written by Ukrainian authors as at present Ukrainian schools mainly use foreign books in the studies.

The roundtable participants were people's deputies, representatives of international organizations, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, regional education departments, English teachers, directors, rectors of postgraduate education establishments, etc.
