The draft law No. 1412 is elaborated to bring national legislation in line with provisions of the Optional Protocol of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as to participation of children in military conflicts.
Members of the Committee noted the adoption of the draft law would enable introduction of effective system of protection of children during military actions and armed conflicts.
Therefore, the Committee decided to recommend that the Ukrainian Parliament adopt the draft law as a basis following its consideration in first reading.
