The Verkhovna Rada Committee for Environmental Policy, Environmental Management and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl NPP Disaster has recommended that the Ukrainian Parliament adopt as a basis the draft law "On introduction of amendments into some legislative acts of Ukraine" as to implementation of Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats 1979."

The draft Law No. 2023 offers amendments that bring the Administrative Offences Code of Ukraine, Forest Code of Ukraine and Laws of Ukraine "On wildlife," "On nature reserves fund of Ukraine," "On protection from animal abuse" in line with the said Convention.
