The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the Law “On introduction of amendments into some legislative acts of Ukraine as to peculiarities of broadcasting (re-broadcasting) of commercials in shows and programs of foreign TV and radio organizations.”
The Law:
— bans broadcasting (re-broadcasting) of commercials within shows and programs of foreign TV and radio organizations that are broadcast (re-broadcast) on the territory of Ukraine in case the said foreign TV and radio organizations are not subjected to jurisdiction of member countries of the European Union or states that ratified the European Convention on Transfrontier Television;
— allows broadcasting (re-broadcasting) of commercials within shows and programs of foreign TV and radio organizations that are broadcast (re-broadcast) on the territory of Ukraine in case the said foreign TV and radio organizations are not subjected to jurisdiction of member countries of the European Union or states that ratified the European Convention on Transfrontier Television only in case the broadcasting (re-broadcasting) of such commercials is paid to a legal entity headquartered in Ukraine despite the way/method of such broadcasting (re-broadcasting);
— bans providers from placement of commercials in shows and programs of foreign TV and radio organizations.
Respective draft law was registered under No. 1455.
