People's deputies Serhii Alekseev, Olha Belkova and Taras Kutovyi meet with representatives of Consultative Committee of Italian entrepreneurs under Italy’s Embassy to Ukraine

The meeting between deputies of Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction (the UDAR group) Serhii Alekseev, Olha Belkova and Taras Kutovyi and representatives of Consultative Committee of Italian entrepreneurs under Italy’s Embassy to Ukraine, with the participation of Kyiv city mayor Vitali Klitschko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine Fabrizio Romano, took place on April 14.
At the meeting, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Legal Policy and Justice Alekseev noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will perfect the legislation on protection of foreign investors.
He also said that deputies of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction (the UDAR group) initiated the establishment of a special commission for activity of foreign investors in Ukraine at the Verkhovna Rada. “The major task of the special commission is the elaboration of a draft law on revival of trust in foreign investors in Ukraine, as well as the consideration of appeals of foreign investors as to restriction of their rights,” the people's deputy noted. Alekseev reminded that at present the investment activity is regulated by the Law of Ukraine adopted in 1991 and thus, demands considerable improvements. He expressed confidence that the Ukrainian Parliament will take decision to establish the commission to elaborate respective amendments.
Alekseev said that the greatest problems foreign investors are concerned over are instability of the tax legislation, absence of responsibility for restriction of investors’ rights and the unregulated issue of compensation of losses to investors, as well as imperfection of the judicial system. “These are the problems we have to tackle in the frames of work of the special commission, which will elaborate amendments into the legislation on protection of rights of foreign investors,” Alekseev said.
The meeting of the deputy group for interparliamentary relations with the Italian Republic with the participation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine Fabrizio Romano will take place at 3А Sadova street (room 536) at 15:00, April 21, 2015.
