The legislative act retains monetary and other types of assistance for managerial staff and privates of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine, servicemen and employees of the National Guard of Ukraine kept hostage or declared missing in accordance with the Law.
Pursuant to the Law, “monetary assistance is paid to the following members of families of policemen:”
— wife (husband), and in the case of her (his) absence — adult children living with her (him), or legal representatives (guardians) or adoptive parents of minor children (disabled since childhood regardless of age), and also those who are dependent on police officers; police officers’ parents in equal shares if the policemen are not married and have no children. In this case the payment of the assistance to these family members is carried out until full clarification of circumstances of capturing policemen or taking them hostage, their release or their recognition, as prescribed by Law, as missing or dead. In all cases, payment of the assistance is carried out for not longer than until the dismissal from the police service in the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine.
In case of indexation of the monetary assistance to policemen, the monetary assistance to families of policemen taken hostage or missing is paid recognizing such an indexation.”
Concluding provisions rule that the Law is spread for the managerial staff and privates of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine, servicemen and employees of the National Guard of Ukraine, who had taken direct part in the anti-terror operation and international peacekeeping missions and were taken hostage or declared as missing as a result of such participation, prior to the enactment of the Law.
