People's deputies of Ukraine meet with delegation of Committee on Foreign Affairs of National Assembly of Hungary

At the meeting Ukraine was represented by Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Foreign Affairs Hanna Hopko, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Foreign Affairs Borys Tarasiuk, Deputy Co-Head of the Verkhovna Rada group for interparliamentary cooperation with Hungary Vasyl Brenzovych, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Opanasenko. Hungarian delegation was represented by Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly of Hungary Zsolt Nemeth. Other participants of the meeting were a deputy of the National Assembly of Hungary Attila Mesterhazy, and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Erno Keskeny.

Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Foreign Affairs Hanna Hopko called for further development of interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries, informed about the work of the Committee and also pointed to the necessity for intensification of cooperation at political, economic and humanitarian levels.

In particular, the parties drew attention to issues to be discussed in the frames of the upcoming Eastern Partnership summit in Riga (Latvia) on May 21-22, and the issues to touch European integration of Ukraine and introduction of visa-free regime with the European Union.

In turn, Head of the Hungarian delegation Zsolt Nemeth expressed interest of his country in resumption of political and diplomatic dialogue on the bilateral basis. He pointed out the importance of cooperation at the level of respective parliamentary committees and interparliamentary friendship groups.

At the end of the meeting Nemeth thanked for warm reception and invited members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Foreign Affairs to visit Hungary in autumn 2015.
