ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, PLENARY MEETING OF THE EIGHTH SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION WAS HELD
The Chairman informed about the results of work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the plenary meetings on April 19, 2011.
The People's Deputies read their inquiries and motions.
The bill "On Ratification of the Agreement on State Social Aid to the Family Members of Military Servants who died in Afghanistan and other States of Military Operations" was presented by Volodymyr Mozharskyi, Deputy Minister on Defense.
Oleh Bilorus, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, announced that the Committee recommended the Verkhovna Rada to ratify the Agreement.
The Verkhovna Rada ratified the Agreement by 295 votes.
The bill "On Ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Slovak Republic on the Nuclear Material Transfer between the Russian Federation and Slovak Republic through the Territory of Ukraine" was presented by Olena Mykolaichuk, Chair of the State Inspection for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine.
The subject Committee on Foreign Affairs recommended the Parliament to ratify the Agreement.
The Verkhovna Rada ratified the Agreement by 260 votes.
The bill on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine regarding strengthening of responsibility of the officials for hindering business activity was presented by Natalia Korolevska, People's Deputy of Ukraine.
Chairman of the Subcommittee of the Committee on legislative Support of Law Enforcement Viktor Shemchuk announced the Committee's decision to recommend the Verkhovna Rada to recommit the bill. The bill was rejected.
N. Korolevska, People's Deputy of Ukraine, presented the bill on the moratorium on certain measures of state supervision (control) over the economic activity. The bill was rejected.
BYuT-Batkivshchyna and Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Factions insisted that the recess be announced. R. Zabzaliuk, ByuT-Batkivshchyna faction member, informed about the protest of the war veterans near the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. R. Zabzaliuk declared that they called for scrutinizing the pressing problems of the war veterans, such as protection of rights and privileges of the war veterans (soldiers who took part in the military operations in Afghanistan).
R. Zabzaliuk referred the appeals of protesters to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Adam Martyniuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, adjourned the morning sitting.
The next plenary meeting of the eighth session will be held on Thursday, April 21.
