ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6, THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION CONTINUED ITS PLENARY WORK.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opened the plenary meeting, and reported on the results of work of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the plenary meetings on April 5.
The People´s Deputies read out their motions, appeals and announcements.
Deputy Head of the Security Service Volodymyr Porodko presented the bill on Ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on Mutual Protection of Classified Information.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the Agreement by 297 votes.
First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Mykhailo Bolotskykh presented the bill on Ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of France on Mutual Assistance and Cooperation in Civil Protection.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the Agreement by 310 votes.
People´s Deputy Anatolii Hrytsenko presented the bill on amendments to several Laws of Ukraine concerning liquidation of the tax police. The bill was rejected.
People´s Deputy Viacheslav Kyrylenko presented the bill on amendments to clause 11 of the Law "On Comprehensive Secondary Education" (re moratorium on closing rural schools).
The bill was recommitted by 334 votes.
Head of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Sector, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety Mykola Martynenko presented the bill on Amendments to several Laws of Ukraine regarding Social Security of the Residents of the Supervised Area.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill by 265 votes.
The bill on amendments to the Law "On Compulsory State Retirement Insurance" (re participation of the entrepreneurs in insurance) was withdrawn from consideration.
The People´s Deputies scrutinized the issue concerning putting several bills on the agenda of the session. None of the five bills and resolutions was put on the agenda.
In the end of the plenary meeting, Adam Martyniuk, First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, announced that People´s Deputy Volodymyr Skubenko entered the Party of Regions Faction. The plenary meeting was adjourned.
The next plenary meeting of the eighth convocation will be held on Thursday, April 7.
