THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE CONTINUED ITS PLENARY WORK ON WEDNESDAY, 17 NOVEMBER

 

In the beginning of the morning plenary meeting, the People´s Deputies presented their motions, announcements and appeals.

 

Valeria Lutkovska, Deputy Minister of Justice, presented the bill "On Ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on Laundering, Search, Seizure and Confiscation of the Proceeds from Crime and on the Financing of Terrorism."

 

The Verkhovna Rada ratified the Council of Europe Convention on Laundering, Search, Seizure and Confiscation of the Proceeds from Crime and on the Financing of Terrorism by 316 votes.  

 

The parliament members scrutinized and adopted the Agreement (in the form of exchange of letters) between Ukraine and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on Amendments to the Framework Agreement between Ukraine and the EBRD on Chornobyl Ukryttia Foundation in Ukraine, and the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo on Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments.

 

People´s Deputy Serhii Soboliev presented the bill on the energy security of Ukraine.

 

The factions in opposition supported the bill. However, the bill was rejected.

 

People´s Deputy Ksenia Liapina presented the bill on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine regarding state regulation of production safety. The bill was rejected.

 

The Verkhovna Rada forwarded the bill on amendments to the Mining Law of Ukraine regarding compensation for the payment for the pubic utility services to adjustment. Two bills on amendments to several Laws of Ukraine regarding economic entities, and on amendments to the Code of Administrative Legal Proceedings of Ukraine (re appeal against legal acts) were rejected.    

 

In the end of the plenary meeting, the People´s Deputies scrutinized the bill "On Privatization of Small State-Owned Enterprises (Small Privatization)" (on the Ban on Privatization of Premises of the Libraries, Book Shops and State-Owned Publishing Houses), adopting its by 278 votes as a basis.  

 

The Chairman adjourned the plenary meeting.

 

The next plenary meeting of the seventh session will be held on Thursday, 18 November.
