PLENARY WEEK OF THE SEVENTH SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION CONCLUDED ON FRIDAY, 5 NOVEMBER
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, briefed on the results of work of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the plenary meetings on 4 November.
V.Lytvyn announced that the Government Question Hour would not be held, as neither faction submitted the suggestions.
The Chairman read out the deputy inquiries.
V.Lytvyn put the motion of People´s Deputy S.Sas to the vote. The People´s Deputy suggested amending the agenda, scrutinizing the issue on the termination of deputy authorities of dual jobholders. The People´s Deputies rejected the suggestion.
Serhii Hordienko, Secretary of the Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government, presented the bill on amendments to clause 10 of the Law "On State Decorations" (re introduction of the titles of honour).
The bill was rejected.
Serhii Hordienko, Secretary of the Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government, also presented the bill on amendments to the Law "On Elections of the President of Ukraine" (re prevention of falsifications).
The Verkhovna Rada rejected the bill.
Raisa Sorochynska-Kyrylenko, Chairman of the Sub-Committee of the Public Health Committee, presented the bill on amendments to Clause 3 of the Law "On Transplantation of Organs and other Anatomical Materials" (re production of Antireticular Cytotoxic Serum). The reporter stated that the Ukrainian compound was produced by a prominent Ukrainian scholar Oleksandr Bohomolets back in 1924. The Antireticular Cytotoxic Serum boosts responsiveness and body resistance.
The bill was forwarded for adjustment.
People´s Deputy Serhii Hlazunov presented the bill on the governmental assistance of sectoral research. The bill sets the principles of governmental support of sectoral research.
The Verkhovna Rada forwarded the bill for adjustment.
People´s Deputy Valerii Bondyk presented the bill on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine to overcome the negative influence of the global financial crisis. The People´s Deputy suggested establishing criminal responsibility of the bank employees for the denial in the withdrawal of the deposit or the balance of money on the first demand of the customer, and other violation of customer´s property rights.
Vladyslav Zabarskyi, Chairman of the Sub-Committee of the Committee on Judicial Policy, stated that the Committee recommended The Verkhovna Rada to forward the bill for adjustment.
The parliament members supported the resolution of the specialized Committee by 272 votes.
In the end of the plenary meeting, the People´s Deputies presented their appeals, announcements and motions.
On 8-12 November, the People´s Deputies work in the committees and factions.
The next plenary meeting of the seventh session will be held on Tuesday, 16 November.
