PLENARY MEETING OF THE SECOND SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION WAS HELD ON FRIDAY, 20 JUNE
Before the morning meeting, the People´s Deputies of the BYuT Faction blocked the Presidium and the governmental box.
Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opened the sitting, and invited the leaders of Factions to the meeting at the cabinet of the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada.
The Chairman stated that no Draft Resolution on Discredit of the Government was registered at The Verkhovna Rada. Pursuant to Article 225 of the Provisional Standing Orders of the Verkhovna Rada, the said resolution is to be scrutinized by the Committees and the Government within 17 days.
A Draft Resolution on Re-Election of the Leaders of The Verkhovna Rada was neither registered at the Parliament.
A.Yatseniuk also stated that he would convene an extraordinary meeting, provided the appeal of 150 People´s Deputies of Ukraine was submitted.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dwelled upon the issue concerning coalition. "There are no legal grounds for suspension of the process of formation of a new coalition. However, a relevant resolution of the Factions is to be adopted. In case there is a new Coalition Agreement that complies with the Law, you are welcome to bring it forward, so that a new coalition can be created", - stated A.Yatseniuk. "Otherwise, we have to wait for the resolution of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine".
According to A.Yatseniuk, he recommended that the leaders of Factions scrutinized no political documents, as they were not included into the agenda. However, they failed to uphold the said motion. The Chairman stated that the parliamentary hall was blocked and there was no time left for work. A.Yatseniuk recalled that due to the schedule, two following weeks would be devoted to work with the electors and within the Committees.
A.Yatseniuk is convinced that some resolution concerning the coalition will be adopted in the nearest time.
He believes that the Parliament is held as hostage. The problem is not inspired by the People´s Deputies - it originated at the level of relations between all the branches of authority.
A.Yatseniuk stated that as the Chairman of the Parliament, he will protect the Parliament to the utmost.
Then the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada declared the meeting closed.
