PLENARY MEETINGS OF THE SECOND SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION WERE HELD ON TUESDAY, 15 APRIL
Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opened the morning meeting and immediately announced a recess due to the demand of the BYuT and "Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defence" Factions.
Aurhorized representatives of the Deputy Factions presented their appeals, declarations and motions.
Then the People´s Deputies scrutinized a number of issues by a shortened procedure.
Olexandr Shlapak, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Secretariat, reported on the Bill on Amendments to several Legislative Acts of Ukraine (re State Regulation of Natural Monopolies).
The Committee on Economic Policy upheld adoption of the Bill. However, the Committee on National Security and Defence failed to uphold the Bill.
The Bill was rejected due to the results of the discussion.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Bill on Amendments to several Laws of Ukraine (re State Aid to the Families that adopted a Child-Orphan or a Child deprived of Parental Care) as a basis.
Then the People´s Deputies scrutinized a number of Bills at the Second Reading. The People´s Deputies adopted the following Bills in their entirety: on Amendments to the Criminal and Procedural Criminal Codes of Ukraine (re Humanization of Criminal Liability); on Amendments to several Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding Enhanced Liability for Violation of Land Legislation; on Amendments to several Legislative Acts of Ukraine due to Adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On Provision of Equal Rights and Opportunities of Men and Women".
The Bill on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Procedure of Import (Shipping), Customs Clearance and Taxation of Personal Belongings, Commodities and Vehicles that are imported (shipped) in Ukraine by the Citizens (re International Postal Shipping) was adopted at the First and Second Reading, and in its entirety.
Vasyl Khara, Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Labour, reported on the Draft Labour Code of Ukraine.
A.Yatseniuk brought the Draft Labour Code to the vote. 210 People´s Deputies voted for the said document.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine resolved to postpone the voting for the Draft Labour Code.
Then the evening meeting was closed.
