The extraordinary sitting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation.


317 parliamentarians have registered to partake in this sitting.


The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov opened the special meeting of parliament.

The presiding officer clued up that the event has been convened on demand of 156 MPs and in accordance with part eight of Article 19 of the Verkhovna Rada’s rules of procedure.

Representatives of parliamentary factions and groups spoke at the meeting.

Parliamentarians then proceeded to the business of the day.

 


  • Laws, bills and resolutions passed

 

  • On stronger healthcare system: Draft bill No.3380

Lawgivers viewed in detail the bill No.3380 “On amendments to some laws of Ukraine aimed to increase the capability of Ukraine’s healthcare system to counteract the spread of the coronavirus disease COVID-19”. After the consideration, the bill was backed by 338 ayes in its first reading and 336 – in the second.

  • On insurance for frontline medics: Draft bill No.3376

The parliament considered the bill No.3376 “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On protection of the population against infectious diseases’ (as to the amount of compulsory state insurance for employees of public and communal health care establishments engaged in protecting the population against infectious diseases)” together with its alternatives under Nos.3376-1, 3376-2.

MPs voted in favour of the proposal to declare the bill urgent. The line committee recommended adopting the bill No.3376-1 on both readings and in whole, taking into consideration proposals submitted by the committee.

337 parliamentarians then voted in favour of the first reading of the draft bill No.3376-1, whilst 340 ayes were for its second reading.

 

The presiding officer closed the extraordinary sitting of the parliament.
