"On June 3, members of the Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities, People’s Deputies of Ukraine Viktoria Hryb and Serhii Nahornyak, met with a delegation from the Parliament of the Kingdom of Norway.

The Norwegian delegation included members of the Storting’s Standing Committee on Energy and the Environment, led by Committee Chair Mani Hussaini. The delegation comprised representatives from both the parliamentary majority and the opposition, demonstrating the unified support of the Norwegian political spectrum for Ukraine.

"During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Ukraine's energy sector, preparations for the upcoming heating season, issues of energy security and resilience, as well as future avenues for Ukrainian-Norwegian energy cooperation.

The People’s Deputies of Ukraine shared their experience with their Norwegian colleagues on maintaining power grid operations amidst full-scale war and relentless attacks on critical infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to the protection of energy facilities and the role of international support in strengthening the state's energy resilience.

During the discussion, the sides noted the critical importance of Norway’s military-technical assistance, highlighting in particular the effectiveness of NASAMS air defense systems in protecting Ukrainian energy infrastructure from russian attacks.

The significant potential for cooperation between Ukraine and Norway in the field of natural gas extraction was also emphasized. The Ukrainian side highly praised Norway’s expertise as one of the leading suppliers of natural gas to the European market and expressed strong interest in further exchanging experience and developing joint projects.

During the meeting, representatives of the Norwegian delegation reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine, emphasizing that Ukraine's success in its struggle for independence is vital for the security of all of Europe.

The Committee members thanked their Norwegian partners for their consistent political, humanitarian, and energy support for Ukraine, as well as for their visit to Kyiv, which served as an important demonstration of solidarity with the Ukrainian people during this challenging time for the nation.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to further develop interparliamentary dialogue and deepen cooperation in the fields of energy, energy security, and the recovery of Ukraine."
