“On September 24 we became aware of shameful cases of intimidation and assault on journalists of two TV channels who performed their professional duties on investigation of implication of certain persons in secessionist activity and investigation of large scale corruption facts regarding passing out of state ownership vast areas of reservoirs,” noted Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada.
“Interference in the work of mass media representatives thorough intimidation and brute force is not the only shocking information. Shocking facts of corruption that raise fair questions as to whether this was Ukraine they saw after the Revolution of Dignity, and whether persons encroaching on public property have the right to hold office,” stressed Oleksandr Turchynov.
Chairperson of the Parliament claimed that the Prosecutor General should scrutiny all the accusations against his inferiors.
“The authority raised to power by Maidan has no right to hide from people. Both cases should be thoroughly investigated and the guilty should be punished.
