To the citizens of Mykolaiv
Dear friends!
I sincerely congratulate you on this significant date – the 225th establishment anniversary of Mykolaiv.
For its over two-century history, the city of ships has transformed from a small ship-building facility to a powerful industrial centre of the Black Sea region, a big industrial, business, political and cultural centre of the southern part of our country.
Thanks to your hard work, talent, intelligence, dear Mykolaiv citizens, the city is famous not only in Ukraine but abroad as well. You have been developing it throughout its history, and preserving its beauty and identity.
225 years for a city is still youth. That is why it can truly be called a city of the youth. I believe that the youth will write new pages of a chronicle of Mykolaiv as a modern and European city.
Today our country is again defending its right for the statehood, and every one of us – the right to be a Ukrainian.
On this festive day I wish you to be strong, courageous and unshakable in your faith in Ukraine's happy tomorrow.
