The event took place on September 3, 2014 on the territory of the National Pedagogical University
named after M.P. Drahomanov. In her speech the Committee Chairperson stressed: “It has fallen to our lot to live in the time that will be written in school history text books. We are living in this time period, while the Heavenly Hundred and hundreds of other Ukrainian patriots have given the most precious they had – their life. We have no right to waste this chance for Ukraine, the chance they have won at the expense of their life.”
The Cossack’s Cross in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes was unveiled and blessed by the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate, His Holiness Filaret Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus’-Ukraine.
Famous religious figures, representatives of the educational sector, science, engineering and culture participated in the event.
