Eurointegration processes shall be synchronized with the processes of Euro-Atlantic integration. Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said this in an interview to "channel 5".
"I think Eurointegration processes shall be synchronized with the processes of Euro-Atlantic integration", he said, adding that reforms of the economy, social, legal and defence spheres will help "Ukraine become a full-fledged member of the European Union and of the NATO".
"And then our security will be protected for a long time", he added, stressing that social opinion on this issue is changing dramatically.
"A year ago we did not have majority of the society to favour acceding of our country to this institution. However, Russia's aggression is changing attitudes of many Ukrainians", claimed Oleksandr Turchynov.
Speaking about the future, the Chair of the Parliament emphasized that "there is no alternative to European integration".
"We have chosen civilizational and democratic values. A course towards Europe is the strategy we shall implement", he said and added that according to previous calculations, "it is possible to accede to the EU in the next five years".
