Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine claims that for many years members of this well-respected institution "have been persistently and selflessly protecting our shared values: democracy, human rights and the rule of law – the foundations of peace, stability and prosperity on the European continent".
"One can not overestimate the level of success and achievements of the Assembly in developing Europe without the boundary lines, and in promoting common European values", stresses Oleksandr Turchynov.
Moreover, the Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasizes that current events in Europe, particularly in the context of forming a new threat when norms of the international law are replaced with the law of the force, show that strengthening cooperation in order to protect peace and human dignity should be the topical issue of our agenda".
"Ukraine, which is now paying an extremely high price for its independence and devotion to European ideals, has always been and will be a reliable partner for the Assembly and for the Council in Europe", the Chair of the Ukrainian Parliament claimed.
