The bill (Reg. No. 4105) suggests supplementing article 51 of the Code with provisions on reduction of a working day by one hour for all registered pregnant women workers with preservation of an average salary.
The Committee members claim the legislative initiative to be reasonable as it is aimed at protecting rights, strengthening labour guarantees, and creating conditions for healthy motherhood for pregnant women workers in Ukraine.
People's deputies took into consideration results of the study on health of pregnant women and their newborns conducted by the Institute for Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology at the AMS of Ukraine within the scientific project "Family and children of Ukraine".
