Representatives of the EPP supported Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and expressed solidarity with Ukrainian people.
“We support you during this complicated period of tests and we will always stand for the people of Ukraine that protect democracy and independence of their state,” said the EPP Vice President Jacek Saryusz-Wolski.
The issue of ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement was discussed separately.
In this connection, Hryhorii Nemyria informed his colleagues that there are no technical obstacles that would prevent the President of Ukraine from submitting the Agreement to the Parliament for ratification.
In his turn, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament Elmar Brok stressed the importance of prompt ratification of the Agreement.
“Last week the European Parliament called on Ukraine to promptly ratify the Association Agreement in order to quickly implement it. We support Ukraine on its way to Europe,” he said.
