The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law “On amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine re protection of rights of the disabled”

The law aims to protect the disabled against limiting their rights on grounds of disability.

The law amends article 2 of the Law “On the Fundamentals of Social Protection of the Disabled of Ukraine” by stipulating that the term “discrimination on the basis of disability” is used in the meaning provided in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and in the Law “On the Basis of Prevention and Counteraction to corruption in Ukraine”, and amends article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The respective bill was registered under No. 3640.
