The Parties discussed the issue of European integration of our country
and cooperation between Ukraine
and Denmark
at the parliamentary level. It went about the situation in Ukraine and the issues connected with Russia’s aggression against our state.
“As a part of Europe, Ukraine needs not only to feel solidarity, we need discussion with the EU countries regarding the situation in our state, since this concerns not only Ukraine and Russia – this is a challenge for the entire system of global security,” stressed Hryhorii Nemyria.
In his turn, Per Stig Moller reassured Ukraine
in the support on the part of the EU and stressed that Denmark was and remains “the attorney of our country on the way to the
EU.” “We support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” he stressed.
“We are grateful to the EU for the support provided to our country in the most difficult months of our history and we hope that it will continue further on,” noted Oleh Pankevych, the Committee member.
The issue of signing and implementation of the economic part of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU was separately discussed, as well as the steps that need to be taken for further liberalization of visa regime between the EU and Ukraine and the prospects of introduction of visa free regime.
Ambassador of Denmark to Ukraine Merete Juhl also participated in the meeting.
Chair of the Committee Hryhorii Nemyria, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Oleh Pankevych, as well as Committee members Stepan Kurpil and Borys Tarasiuk were present at the meeting.
