The event organized by Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) and Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) with the support of Swedish and Ukrainian governments was held in Kyiv on June 4-5, 2014.   

Economists and politicians discussed cooperation of Europe and post-Soviet countries in resolving common problems regarding free trade zone. Scientists, politicians, EU and Eastern Partnership states’ representatives, independent scientific and research organizations, private business companies, civic institutions, and mass media were among the speakers and participants of the event.       

Delivering a speech in the framework of the section “Role of high education and scientific research in the transitional period”, Chair of the Committee claimed “We are facing a task of developing a new legislation which will create a space for considerable improvement of quality of education, dynamic development of science and introducing innovations in national economy. The new Law “On High Education” is the first step on this way”.
