Such decision was adopted following results of considering the draft resolution on measures of stabilizing Ukraine’s economy, cutting budgetary expenses and intensification of state management (Reg. No. 4273).
People’s deputies claimed rejection to hold “EuroBasket 2015” will lead to “considerable decrease of basketball’s prestige in the country, and to worsening of Ukraine’s international reputation”.
According to the Committee’s members, the meeting should be attended by people’s deputies, management of respective ministries, local executive authorities, local self-government authorities, representatives of Local Organising Committee of “EuroBasket 2015”, Basketball Federation of Ukraine, and investors of building sports arenas. Following results of the meeting, the Committee plans to re-consider the draft resolution on measures of stabilizing Ukraine’s economy, cutting budgetary expenses and intensification of state management.
