The bill (Reg. No. 4013) suggests supplement the Criminal Code with several special crime components.
The bill also suggests determine compensatory payments in case of death or injury of a journalists while performing professional duties. Respective amendments are to be made to the Law “On state support of mass media and social protection of journalists” (article 18).
MPs claim adoption of the bill will guarantee safety of legal professional activity of journalists at the legislative level according to European standards.
