Crimea was, is and will be Ukrainian land. This was announced by acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov on Tuesday at the Parliament’s plenary meeting.
He claimed that occupation of Crimea has turned out to be a personal tragedy for hundreds of thousands of our citizens. “I asked the Cabinet of Ministers, departments and establishments, which will be helping refugees, to deal with this problem sincerely, not formally. This pain refers the whole Ukraine”, said Oleksandr Turchynov.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada expressed belief that Ukrainian military and citizens, forced to leave their homes in Crimea, will return to their Homeland. “We will not be waiting for this long. This will happen soon”, he claimed.
Opening the plenary meeting, Oleksandr Turchynov stated that unfortunately provocations of the Russian Federation occupational forces in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea that are aimed at our military men, their families, citizens remaining faithful to Ukraine, still continue.
The Chairman of the Parliament reminded that considering threat to lives and health of Ukrainian military men and their families, the NSDC decided to reposition military unites located in Crimea and to evacuate their families. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defence were instructed to ensure a proper level of living for military men and their families in places of relocation.
Oleksandr Turchynov also informed that a lot of Crimean citizens leave the peninsula because of a real danger to their lives and health.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stressed that “regardless of serious losses and problems in Crimea, most of military men have fulfilled their duties and have hold out for a month, having given the Armed Forces an opportunity to prepare for protection and defence of all Ukrainian borders.” “The Armed Forces are on full combat alert, partial mobilization has been initiated, military units are prepared for fulfilling their military duties”, he clamed.
Oleksandr Turchynov thanked the military men who “protected their country and gave an opportunity to prepare resistance to the invaders”.
