Particularly, it was noted that 12 countries provide their assistance to the injured on Maidan.

Female politicians of the Inter-faction deputy union “Equal Opportunities” jointly with representative of the Ukrainian Coordination Center of International Assistance (to the injured) (UKMD) Olena Hantsiak-Kaskiv underlined that as of today, information on 467 injured during the protest actions on January 19 – February 20, 2014 that received a long-lasting medical treatment in the hospitals of Kyiv and Ukraine, was confirmed. However, the number of injured in the course of “Revolution of Dignity” is much bigger.

According to information collected by the Inter-faction deputy union “Equal Opportunities” and UKMD, already 219 injured in the course of protest actions were sent for treatment abroad, after they received aid in Ukrainian medical institutions. The biggest number of injured receives treatment in Poland – 110. Then - Germany (27 injured), Romania (11), Czech Republic (11), Estonia (10), Lithuania (10), Latvia (10), Hungary (10) and Italy (10).

Co-head of the Inter-faction union Iryna Herashchenko informed that preliminary lists of deceased and injured during protest actions are being constantly specified. Unfortunately, at present, several injured are still in critical condition. The deputy informed that the Inter-faction deputy union and UKMD cooperate on 4 programmes.   

Co-head of the Inter-faction deputy union Olena Kondratiuk told that these programmes are implemented not only in close cooperation with international humanitarian funds and governments, but also with the Ukrainian Diaspora that actively supports the injured. She stressed also an extremely important role and support on the part of churches of different denominations.

People’s deputies from the Inter-faction union “Equal Opportunities”, particularly, Tetiana Sliuz, Oksana Prodan, Lilia Hrynevych, Iryna Kupreichyk informed about assistance to the Kyiv hospitals where there are still over 40 injured. They thanked volunteers that collected medicine and money for victims and their families. Thanks to sponsorship of TV channels “Inter” and ICTV, it was possible to buy medical equipment for UAH 4 ml for four Kyiv medical centres, and to pay for two plains for transporting the injured into Germany.   

Women-politicians stressed that the Inter-faction union and the UKMD will further coordinate all work connected with rehabilitation and assistance to families of the deceased.

Several bills on assistance to families of the deceased and injured during the Revolution of Dignity, and on provision of families that lost a supporter of a family with social guarantees, are already registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Representatives of the Inter-faction union “Equal Opportunities” Iryna Herashchenko, Olena Kondratiuk, Maria Ionova, Maria Matios, Oksana Prodan, Lilia Hrynevych, Natalia Novak, Oleksandra Kuzhel, Tetiana Sliuz, Iryna Kupreichyk, Iryna Lutsenko will further coordinate all issues connected with medical establishments and volunteer organizations on providing the injured and families of the deceased during the Revolution of Dignity with assistance.
