There are no grounds for postponing elections of the President of Ukraine to December. Elections should be held on May 25. Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said this, giving comments to journalists in the Parliament.
According to him, Ukraine needs the President that would have full powers. “The sooner this happens, the better,” added the Chairman of the Parliament, stressing that each citizen of Ukraine, irrespective of the place of residence and the language, will have the opportunity to uphold the candidate he/she likes, the one that will decently perform the duties of the Head of the state.
“I am convinced that our presidential elections will be held in an exemplar manner and we will show the whole world that it is possible to hold elections in Ukraine without any restrictions, political pressure or falsification,” stressed Oleksandr Turchynov.
