The Committee Chair Volodymyr Lytvyn informed of the situation in the country, having noted in particular that “the situation in Crimea is extremely complicated and we deem that is has exceeded the criticality bounds.”

V.Lytvyn noted also that the Ukrainian Party does its best to place this conflict into the negotiation dimension. “We are ready to a dialogue, to discus all the issues except for the issue of territorial integrity and Ukraine’s sovereignty,” he stressed.

However, according to him, proposals of the Ukrainian Party to hold meetings at the level of parliaments and deputy groups do not find response on the part of Russian parliamentarians.

“Today we will once again address the respective specialized committees of the State Duma and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation with a proposal to start a dialogue,” informed the Committee Chair.

The Chairman of the Committee said also that today the Verkhovna Rada has passed another Address to the guarantor-states that have signed the Budapest Memorandum.

Deputy Head of the OSCE Human Rights Department Omer Fisher noted that the mission has come to Ukraine at the invitation of the government in order to assess observation of human rights under present circumstances.
