Oleksandr Turchynov noted that after tragic events that took place in the past months, “we have practically received a new country in which people will not allow to punch themselves in the face, the country, in which people will no longer bear with the lack of justice, designer cases, and corruption.”
“People want to live in a free European country. They do not want to
kneel down and feel themselves slaves,” he added. “Those who are guilty of mass killings of people will be responsible before the Ukrainian court and, I do not exclude, before the International tribunal and, what is more important, before the judgment of Christ,” claimed Oleksandr Turchynov. “In the nearest possible time, we should regain the trust of people in that the criminals will be punished and ordinary people – protected,” he added.
The Chairman of the Parliament stressed that over the past few years, force structures have worked in contradiction to the legislation and have turned into repressive bodies. In this context, Oleksandr Turchynov called on to “drastically reform” the system of law-enforcement bodies and take measures to establish order in the country, protect its citizens and root out corruption. Thereat, he expressed conviction that representatives of force structures, who “have preserved their dignity, soul and responsibility should stay and work for the country.”
“The issue of country’s survival is the issue of how quickly can we restore the authority able to protect the state, homes and our children,” noted the Chairman of the Parliament.
“Ukrainians are ready to protect their country, restore it, raise its greatness and return respect of the whole world. We should implement our historic European choice, restore our powerful economic potential and be proud that we are Ukrainians,” he summed up, and added that “here there are lots of tasks for the personnel of the prosecutor’s office that should be performed immediately and efficiently.”
