Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov claims that the people’s deputies should ensure “a new quality of the Parliament.” “It is extremely important for us that since the first days of our work everyone could see that it is truly the new quality of the Parliament. The Parliament that measures up to the Ukrainian people and to the responsibility that lies on each of us,” said Oleksandr Turchynov, on opening the meeting of the Conciliatory Council on Monday.
“Ukraine should be united, Ukraine should be raised, and Ukraine should be protected. This is our sacred duty, dear colleagues,” he stressed. In this context, he called on all the participants of the meeting to form the agenda focusing on formation of the Government.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada suggested divide legislative acts that are proposed for adoption into two groups. “There might be some of them which we failed to vote on due to technical reasons and that people wait for as the top priority ones. These might be three, four or five legislative acts that we can vote on today, the latest possible – tomorrow in the morning. We shall not start considering serious legislative acts until the coalition government, the government of national confidence is formed. There is no sense in adopting the laws that will be observed by no one,” he said.
“We should consider exclusively the bills that can immediately improve the situation and release tension in the society. All the important laws can be scrutinized after formation of the government,” added Oleksandr Turchynov.
