The 200th anniversary of Kobzar has great potential for consolidation of not only Ukrainian society, but also strengthening of unity and friendship of our countries in the framework of the CIS.
This was announced by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak on Thursday at the meeting of the Council of Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (in Saint Petersburg) in the framework of discussing the IPA Plan of work for 2014.
He stressed that next year in the CIS should become the Year of artistic legacy of T.Shevchenko.
Volodymyr Rybak is sure that an important part of the anniversary should become implementation of the Joint Plan under the patronage of the Presidents of Ukraine and the Russian Federation. Also, according to Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, a text of Joint plan of events of Ukraine and Russia for celebration of the 200th birth anniversary of T.Shevchenko was agreed on.
‘The 200th anniversary of Kobzar has great potential for consolidation of not only Ukrainian society, but also strengthening of unity and friendship of our countries in the framework of the CIS,’ said Volodymyr Rybak. ‘So, please take into account Ukraine’s suggestion when adopting the plan of work of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2014.’
In his speech, Volodymyr Rybak also stressed that Ukraine, during its vote in the Commonwealth of Independent States in the next year, will support, will continue and will develop best traditions of this union. ‘All decisions will be made by a consensus,’ he said.
