The bill (Reg. No. 3442) is aimed at improving legal mechanism of exercising by the Parliament its constitutional power re calling the elections. To reach the desired goal, amendments to such laws should be made: the Law ‘On elections of the President of Ukraine’ and ‘On elections of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, local councils and village, township and city chairpersons.’ The Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada should also be amended.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine (clause 20 of chapter one of article 92, chapter six of article 103), organization and procedure of holding elections are determined exclusively by the law.
With consideration of the above-mentioned, suggested amendments to the mentioned legislative acts conform with the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine.
