The Deputy Chairman of the Committee Oleksandr Prysiazhniuk, presiding at the meeting, noted that in the nearest time the people’s deputies-members of the Committee will prepare and refer for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the bill that shall regulate the issue of introduction of foster-family care. O.Prysiazhniuk reminded participants of the meeting that these issues have already been discussed in the Committee during the round table discussion entitled “Foster-family care: experience of introduction and ways of legislative regulation” on June 12, this year.
According to the participants of discussion, foster-family care is the bundled service that stipulates temporary childcare and upbringing of a child in the family of a foster mentor for the period of overcoming of difficult life circumstances by a child or parents.
The mechanisms of foster mentors remuneration and the issue of providing foster families with service housing were also discussed during the meeting.
