The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation does not uphold the draft law on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine re introducing the fee on manufacturers and importers of packaging and packaged goods for processing solid domestic waste

The bill (Reg. No. 2611a) suggests introduce a fee on manufacturers and importers of packaging and packaged goods for processing solid domestic waste.

The bill does not provide any justification for rate of charge for different types of packaging. Minimum norms of waste recycling are not established.

Another drawback of the bill lies in the absence of the procedure of proper use and control over the received tax revenues.
