As the Committee on Family Matters, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism, the International Parliamentary informed, Games are complex sporting contests for the deputies of different countries. For the first time, the event was held in 2009 at the initiative of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Committee on Physical Culture and Sport and since then it is held annually.
The Chairman of the Committee Artur Palatnyi stressed that the games, as an informal means of communication between the parliamentarians of different countries, help form friendly atmosphere in deputies’ environment; develop mutual understanding and strengthen contacts between the participants of competitions and countries they represent.
Ukrainian delegation was represented by the people’s deputies Ivan Kyrylenko (leader of the group), Vitalii Bort, Mykhailo Holovko, Roman Zabzaliuk, Oleksandr Zats, Serhii Katsuba, Andrii Kozhemiakin, Valerii Lunchenko, Ihor Miroshnychenko, Ihor Molotok, Yaroslav Moskalenko, Oleksandr Onyshchenko, Oleh Osukhovskyi, Andrii Pavelko, Artur Palatnyi, Valerii Pysarenko, Volodymyr Polochaninov, Volodymyr Shulha, and Ihor Yankiv.
Ukrainian team took the fifth place. A.Kozhemiakin and Ya.Moskalenko took the first place in big tennis. They took I and III place respectively in the individual competition. I.Yankiv took the II place out of 18 participants in chess tournament.
